How to set my own variable in cms_system_settings

Hello everybody
How to set my own variable callou in modx_system_settings in order to use it further as
How will this variable be set and where? Because When I added a new one into modx_system_settings
by default it wasnt available as [(callou)], so what I need to do in order to be able to use it as [(callou)].
Cheers

Does it have to be a system setting? Can’t you just use a chunk instead?

Yes You are right it could be a chunk
But I thought that it can be a system variable (I think about a chunk as HTML)
So As I thought I shouldnt do it in such way
Thanks

System settings are available everywhere so it’s a waste of resources to use them for things that you only need in certain documents. For that, chunks and template variables are a better choice.

I just wanted to use system variable to keep special URL in it and then everywhere where I will use this URL I will able to use that system variable instead and this situation of using can happen everywhere.

It would have been like this

This is very easy in MODx Revolution. There, you can easily add a new System Setting in the System Setting grid.

Thanks a lot
I have MODx version 1.0.2 and I think it’s not available in this release because I didnt manage to find it out
So maybe its available in a new one 2.0 but not in the previous.
