I am currently looking at your MODX and I am very impressed with its flexibility and its clever way of displaying content based on parameters.
I am confused about creating content with the framework.
How is a backend user supposed to create and save content to be pulled from the DB?
Site News
->Technology
->content
->content
->Health
->content
Create a new document, named Site News. Right-click on it (or click the little icon to its left) and in the context menu select "Create document here". Name it Technology.
Again, right-click on this new document and select "Create document here". Name it content1. Right-click on it, and select "Duplicate document". Edit the new document this will create and name it content2.
Right-click on the Technology document and select "Duplicate document". This will duplicate the whole Technology branch, including the two child documents. Edit and rename as desired.
Now go and start reading the documentation here
http://modxcms.com/documentation.html and here
http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Main_Page. If there’s something you don’t understand, feel free to ask.

Thank you for the reply...
After thinking about your answer, I realise that I knew the answer, and I feel quite foolish.
I was looking for a backend manager, for the content but publishing the docs is actually more flexible, and one can see them in the menu tree.
I now see that I will have to rethink what I learned from typo3 and joomla, there are more ways to doing things!
I look forward to trying my hand at coding as I learn the system.
Thnx

I’ve got the beginnings of some articles on exactly how the Evolution branch of MODx works here.

Thank you,
I will have a look at the resource.
From what I have seen so far the learning curve is not as high as TYPO3.
The system is powerful with the snippet callls, placeholders & arguments. The thing I am trying to get my head around is how powerful the snippets DITTO & JOT really are, it is obvious to me that they are fantastic, just have to harness the power.

I find the Ditto documentation to be a bit confusing: the parameters section doesn’t really help a lot with the actual snippet call parameters, and you tend to get mixed up with the internal script parameters. I think there could be improvement in the distinction between the two.
