  • I ran across a problem recently; a client wanted an image in a news article, and the image was at the beginning of the article. Needless to say, this badly broke the nice, neat summary block on his home page! I got a panicky email, and had to go in and edit the news item to move the image. Would it be possible to remove image tags from the summary display?

I had a same problem and now my client uses the sumery field to make the news item that gets displayed by the newssnippet and the content field for the whole story.

      • That is the best solution, of course.

My client has enough problems just putting in new news items every now and then. It’s going to be harder for me to get them to use the Summary field than it would be for me to hack their copy of NewsListing to avoid img tags in the summary. <sigh>

        • The img tags should be stripable in the newest NewsListing in a relatively straightforward manner. On another note, the next version should also make sure not to split an article in the middle of A or IMG tags.
