[resolved] Maintain scroll position after page load

i have a vertical wayfinder menu.
this is a long list
if you want to choose the lower items you first have to scroll down
i like to maintain the scroll position of the list after a item is selected.
so when the new page is loaded you will see the list in the scroll position as it was before you selected.

this way you will see that your selected item will be hilited.
and if you like to select the next one you do not have to scroll down first.

as normally, after a pageload your scrollTop will be back to top.
and this way you would not see what you just selected.

hi,

even if i think this is a funny idea as, if you menu is that high you’ll land on a page of which a lot of content will be already scrolled, this is quite esay to realise with javascript.
on clicking on your link you just have to retreive the page scrolltop, put that in a cookie and on the concerned page, retreive that cookie scroll top value and smoothly scroll you page to it, done

edited ’cause i’ve just thought about another solution, wayfinder is abble to add an id to every link, this way you can simply add this id as an anchor at the end of the link (/mypage#id_8 for example), done too, a bit less smooth but works without js

used a cookie
most simple solution
did not like to mess up my friendly url with id or variables.

have to rely on javascript and cookies to be allowd by the users client
