    Hi MODXers,

I have a problem after upgrading to 2.1.2 from 2.1.1. Installation copletes with "Internal server error". After calling manager I get:

Strict Standards: strftime() [function.strftime]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/Chicago' for '-5.0/DST' instead in C:\HostingSpaces\...\...\wwwroot\core\model\modx\modx.class.php on line 2054

    500 Error

A fatal application error has been encountered.

I saw the solution is to edit php.ini. However, for that I’d have to contact my hosting provider and ask them to change it. Is there any other way to set it - in other config file ot the script itself? Can this be considered a bug?

My env: IIS 7.5, SQL Server 2008 R2, PHP Version 5.2.13

Your hosting company should have a default timezone set. This is required with any PHP deployment after 5.2. I would contact the host.
