No wrapper when using startId and displayStart

Hey guys,

I might be completely wrong here but I’ve read the docs on Wayfinder and it doesn’t say anywhere that the format is wrong.

I was using the call [[!Wayfinder?startId=`2`&displayStart=`1`&outerTpl=`wrapperTpl`&rowTpl=`itemTpl`]] and this didn’t output anything, yet, when it did, it outputted the default format <h2> for an item.
Toggling back to the default startId=`0` without displayStart, it outputted the outerTpl and rowTpl again like it should.

Now, as far as I am concerned, the format I am using is completely valid. I’ve got a "home" item which the customer doesn’t want to see in the menu, so skipping that and starting with Id 2 (also the second resource, heh). Since I not only want to START there, I also want to show it. Now, as a small fix I tried using startItemTpl which worked fine, but yet again no wrapper!

That should be all the info you guys need, what am I doing wrong here? :/

As a temp fix, I fixed it like so: [[!Wayfinder?startId=`0`&excludeDocs=`1`&outerTpl=`wrapperTpl`&rowTpl=`rowTpl`]]

startId=`2` tells Wayfinder to output only those resources that are children of resource ’2’.
startId=`0` outputs everything as Wayfinder starts at the root.

Does that make sense? Your temporary fix looks like the right way to do it actually

Another way to do this is to tick the ’Hide From Menus’ checkbox when editing your Home page in the manager, so it could be easily changed later by your client if need be.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense actually. I thought it started at the ’root’ already, so I thought of startId as offset, which is clearly isn’t.

I’m gonna fiddle with it some more but I think I get it now, a misunderstanding of param names! Thanks Lucas.
