htmlentitles in my menu titles

I need to get the TM character in a menu title. When I use the html entity ™ it shows up fine in the Revo resource tree, however, I get the exact six characters when its output in a wayfinder menu.

If I hardcode some HTML (using SUP and SMALL), it just outputs the code to the browser. I know there must be something I can do to get the special chars to show up. Any ideas?

What if you copy and paste an actual TM symbol from Word or some other editor (or this message)

Thanks for the reply. Didn’t try that...but I used the urldecode filter like this

[[+wf.linktext:urldecode]]

And the html code, and it displayed just fine. I don’t know if there’s any performance drawback to doing it that way.

I’ll try the copying and pasting and see if that works as that’s cleaner than the html.

It would definitely be faster, but I don’t know if it will work.

For some strange reason, the TMs stopped showing up and the html code is now displayed again. Nothing was done to the site. I have no idea why it reverted. Anything I do I still cannot get the TM to show up the way it showed before. I even changed xhtml_urls to No and that did nothing.

I will post some screenshots and info in my system shortly.

I recently had the new version of wayfinder break some of my menus.

I found that it was converting some symbols to their entities - so ’&’ becomes ’&amp;’ and < becomes &lt; - so no entities or html tags work

Thus &#8482; (which should display ™ ) becomes &amp;#8482 and displays &#8482;

same problem with &trade;

Just typing in a ™ worked for me I tried ’&trade; &#8482; ™ ’ and my menu displayed ’&trade; &#8482; ™ ’ YMMV



revo 2.07 with wayfinder 2.1.3 rc2

I used the TM character in the MODx fields, then used the htmlentities for outputting. It worked.

You can also try toggling the switch in Tools>Configuration>Site for XHTML URLs, see if that helps with anything? Maybe the filter on WF is acting doubly with that setting?

I’ve now upgraded to Revo 2.08 and Wayfinder 2.3 and the menus are back to behaving the way they were previously.

So typing "&amp; & &hellip;" into the menu title box results in "&amp; & &hellip;" in the page source and displays "& & ..."

and to get back to the original topic: " &trade; &#8482; ™ " will now produce " ™ ™ ™ "
