    Hi guys.

Up till now I’ve been using modx as just a way for my clients to alter the text on their sites. I’m wanting to improve my understanding of modx’s features.
I’ve been keeping my own email form processing script outside of modx, but now I’m wondering how to use modx for this.

Is there a modx way for the server-side processing of forms?

The form I use most often is a mail form that uses jquery scripting to perform basic validation before serializing the inputs, and then using an ajax request to post the serialized string. The string is then processed on the server, where I clean the inputs and send a mail to the recipient.

How would a seasoned modx developer make use of modx to process the data from the browser?

For Evo there are a few options such as eForm (which I use for everything, even as an AJAX back-end processor for "Web 20" forms) and SPForm. eForm is one of the snippets that is included with a default MODx installation. SPForm comes with a bunch of spam-fighting options, one of which I have ripped off and adapted to an eForm function.

      For Revo there is FormIt.
