Feature requests?

Is there a place where we can put in WayFinder feature requests?

I was thinking something like this: using a negative number for the startId would mean to start the menu from the level *above* where it is called. -1 = use the parent_id as the start, -2 would be using the parent of the parent and so on. Something like that could come in handy...

No need for this.

You can use [*parent*] for the start id of the parent or UltimateParent for the any level up the tree.

e.g. [[Wayfinder? &startId=`[[UltimateParent]]`]]

You can install ultimate parent in revo the same way you installed wayfinder

Hmmm... maybe I’m not understanding how UltimateParent works... I need to specify a certain level in the hierarchy above the current page. E.g. I need to get the page_id that is the grandchild of the site root (i.e. the page_id of a folder that’s in a folder that’s at the root of the site). I should rtfm on UltimateParent I guess.

[tt]UltimateParent[/tt] has three optional parameters:

[tt]&id [/tt]- The id of the document whose parent you want to find
[tt]&top [/tt]- The top node for the search
[tt]&topLevel [/tt]- The top level node for the search (root = level 1)

So in your case the following should do it:
In Evo (observe the sequence uncached / cached with nested snippet calls!):
[tt][!Wayfinder? &startId=`[[UltimateParent? &topLevel=`3`]]`!][/tt]
In Revo:
[tt][[Wayfinder? &startId=`[[UltimateParent? &topLevel=`3`]]`]][/tt]
