I finally have my first MODX site launched.
I have used Joomla for all my other sites.
I have some links that point to other pages and they work great but I can’t find out how to get different plugins to work. Like the Login and formit plugin to work.
I like MODX’s versatility so far although Joomla is easier to do plugins being I haven’t fully figured out MODX’s plugins yet but I think it’s turning out good so far.
Let me know what you think?

I think you might be confusing plugins with snippets. It doesn’t get much easier than MODx.

You just need to install your snippet using the Package Manager, then insert the snippet call in your template where you need it to appear.

      eg:
      [[!Login? &tplType=`modChunk` &loginTpl=`myLoginChunk`]]

Feel free to create a new thread in the support section for Login and Formit if you need help getting these to work. Don’t forget the docs too wink

        Ok cool thanks.
That’s the only part that has been getting me. I’m so used to Joomla that this is different but not very difficult. Thank you for your help.

Still no luck with these. Every tutorial I find is for older versions but i’m running 2.1.2 traditional.
2 days and I can’t figure these out. I might have to go back to Joomla lol I can’t seem to figure these snippets out to save my life. I’ve been coding my own stuff just for the time being but if I have to just keep coding things I might as well use Joomla again being the interface is more user friendly.
Modx seems like it has potential but trying to transition from Joomla to Modx is confusing.

            Did you try this tutorial:
            http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Login.Basic+Setup
Go through step by step and get it working first, then adjust to your requirements.

Thank you trying it right now.

Being this tutorial is the same version I have it makes it a lot easier to follow.
