ultimateparent in wayfinder - snippet in snippet problem

sorry - probably a really stupidly obvious answer to this but here goes...

(in Evo 1.4)
Wayfinder with ultimateparent like this:
doesn’t give me a result

as far as I can see this would be the correct way to implement, but it doesn’t work, if I take out the ultimateparent on it’s own then it shows me the correct id:

Am I missing something here?
