Need some simple Wayfinder configuration help

Hello All,

I’m using MODx Revolution 2.0.2. I have successfully included the Wayfinder snippet and it’s working. I just need to make some simple configurations.

The snippet call I’m using is: [[Wayfinder? &startId=’4’ &textOfLinks=’longtitle’ &titleOfLinks=’longtitle’]]

The current navigation that is displaying on the screen is:

* Home (1)
* About Us (2)
* Products (3)
* Recipes (4)
o Lemon Ginger Baked Chicken
o Tamari Ginger Glazed Salmon
o Gingered Pear Crisp
o Ginger Shortbread Cookies

What I would like to only be showing is everything that is included in the parent document (4) excluding the parent document itself as so:

o Lemon Ginger Baked Chicken
o Tamari Ginger Glazed Salmon
o Gingered Pear Crisp
o Ginger Shortbread Cookies

However the first problem I encounter is when I add the "&level" parameter (no matter what number, 0, 1, 2, 3, for example) the entire menu on the screen disappears.

I think you just need backticks in your call instead of quotes.

Ok that was indeed the issue. However I still can’t figure out how to just show:

* Lemon Ginger Baked Chicken
* Tamari Ginger Glazed Salmon
* Gingered Pear Crisp
* Ginger Shortbread Cookies

i.e.: show the child documents of the parent container (4) and nothing else.

I also included:

&excludeDocs=`1,2,3` &displayStart=`false`

but the parent container "Recipes" (4) still shows.

I’ve done this before it’s just been so long.

No actually it does the opposite - it removes all of the children document and shows all documents at the root level.

Umm, that works perfectly on Evolution, should work on Revolution too. Maybe a error installing Wayfinder Package?

I don’t think it’s an installation issue as it installed with no problems or error messages. Maybe it’s a bug though.

As a work around, is there anyway to just hide the parent document and show all the children? I’m using &excludeDocs=`1,2,3` to hid the other docs but if I do that for the container doc - the container doc and the children disappear.

I’m using &displayStart=`false` which I thought would do that very thing but it has no effect.

I use a strategy like your &startId=`4` all the time for that purpose on both Revo and Evo. No need for the displaystart stuff, that’s something else.

So the problem is on your end. I’d vote for a cache problem, and suggest that you make the call non-cached instead of what you have. Beyond that, good luck.

Sorry for my newbieness but how do I make the call non-cached? I clear the cash every time I retest a modification to the snippet.
