Accordion menu help need

Hi all,

This has been covered many time before and i have read almost every forum item i could find, i just can’t get an accordion menu working.
I have tried both of the following articles and all i get is a horizontal blue line:

I have a template with a ’leftcol’ which needs to house the accordion menu.
Document structure is as follows:
Container1
Document 1.1
Document 1.2
Document 1.3.1
and so on....there are multiple documents and containers under container 1.

Could someone please assist or point me in the right direction.
