    Hi all,

I want to optimize my site for speed. So I already did some js-load-script, some gzip / htaccess optimization. All fine though.
Now I realized that the biggest lack seems to be the server’s response.

I get server’s response (waiting) of 2.30secs then loads page in .59ms (receiving). Anybody has a hint what to do here?
Can it be a problem with Babel as it redirects from novolo.de to novolo.de/de/ ? Or other plugins?

EDIT: Oh, I have no single uncached snippet call in this page. All cached calls. I have some output filters working but disabling them only did about 0.1s so it’s not the problem.
    Can it be some plugins?

    Thanks,
    -Anselm

What version of MODX? What plugins are you using?

        - MODX 2.1.1pl
        Plugins:
        - AutoFixImageSize
        - Babel
        - CodeMirror
        - gateway (for babel / multi-context)
        - phpthumbofCachemanager
        - redirector
        - TinyMCE
        - VersionX

I know that’s a lot but used snippets on page are:
        - Outputfilters
        - If
        - Wayfinder
        - lexicons
        - TVs
        - BabelLinks

        EDIT:
        I tried to remove all MODX-tags / snippet-calls / TVs / output filters. It’s basically the same result (-0.5s). 3secs of loading - is it a plugin?
HTML-delivery (separate file on host) is super-fast.

        EDIT2:

I tried to remove the whole header-chunk from my tpl and it’s fast again. So what’s happening?
I have a header_tpl chunk which contains my html-head stuff, my logo, navigation, etc. That’s called in my tpl.

Here we go. Solved the problem by removing this script:

            <!--[if lt IE 8]> <div style=' clear: both; height: 59px; padding:0 0 0 15px; margin: 0 auto;'> <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx?ocid=ie6_countdown_bannercode"><img src="http://www.theie6countdown.com/images/upgrade.jpg" border="0" height="42" width="820" alt="You are using an outdated browser. Glad you sorted it out! Why am I not surprised Microsoft had something to do with it tongue
Do you have Yslow? It’s worth a look as you would have picked up that slow request instantly there.

Tested with Chrome Inspector + PageSpeed. They didn’t sorted out what extactly was the problem. Maybe I have to reactivate Firefox for such purposes.
