Weird Wayfinder Issue! Please Help Me!

Ok. I have this site http://www.themovietimeline.net/modx/
On the home page the nav bars display perfectly. When I go to a child page http://www.themovietimeline.net/modx/index.php?id=2, the red navbar at the top, and the timeline section on the left won’t even show up. I thought it might be a child page thing, but I can’t figure it out.
Here is my side bar chunk.

Alright. I kind of found the problem. When I built a level 3 child page, the navbar finally showed up, but only displaying that one child page. What’s the wayfinder parameter for showing the current level documents? I have it set at 0. I though that meant all levels?

Yes, if you want all levels, no need to code level= at all. Default is all levels.

It’s hard to see exactly without knowing your document structure. But you are using &startId of 1 for everything. That will surely mess up any kind of parentage that you’ll want, IMHO. Oh, and note the capital "I" in &startId! You could experiment with &startId=`[*id*]` or &startId=`[*parent*]`, for instance. I find that I usually need a different Wayfinder call for the "non-home" template. When you experiment with startId, that will reveal a lot.

I’m also wondering if you need "backticks" in your code. To me it looks like you have many typos. In my experience, I have not gotten Wayfinder to work without them. (then again, maybe they might!) In any case, I have made an example here:

I’d like to have a home page link on my nav, but just I can’t seem to get the freaking thing to display right. It says it doesn’t link it by default and that you need to add a tpl callout if you use the displayStart call out. I can’t figure out how to format it correctly from the website. This is what I had earlier:
[[Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &displayStart=`true` &tpl=`home` &includeDocs=`1,2,3,4,5,6,7` ]]

It doesn’t change the default formatting whatsoever. Notsure what I’m supposed to do there.

I take it you’re looking to have Home show up when you go to a lower level?

Right in the doc link I sent above.... If you use displayStart, you have to use &startItemTpl, and of course, actually make one. For instance:

[[Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &displayStart=`true` &startItemTpl=`YourStartTemplate` &tpl=`home` &includeDocs=`1,2,3,4,5,6,7` ]]
