I have been struggling to get TVs being displayed in Wayfinder (2.1.1 beta 4) for Revolution but resolved it last night.
If you open the class \core\components\wayfinder\wayfinder.class.php
The problme is in the first two lines of the findTemplateVars function.
You need to comment out line 644 and uncomment line 645 e.g. should be
/* preg_match_all('~\[\[\*(.*?)\]\]~', $tpl, $matches);*/
preg_match_all('~\[\[\+(.*?)\]\]~', $tpl, $matches);
You can then specify TVs in your wayfinder templates as exptected e.g. [[+mytv]]
Not quite sure why it was trying to do a check for [[*mytv]] but hopefully this helps someone else
