Weblink, Wayfinder and target="_blank" question

I’m betting this question should be here. Hopefully I’m right ...

I have a horizontal dropdown menu, within which are a few weblinks to pdf files. These weblinks are all children of one or more of the main menu items. The dropdown menu works fine, correctly showing the weblinks. Clicking on a weblink does take me to the PDF. The weblinks use as a template "(blank)".

The problem arises in that the link attribute for each weblink has been set to but it is not getting opened in a new window. The attribute doesn’t even show up in the page source view of the rendered menu.

I’ve read the Wiki posts on weblinks and done a variety of Google searches. Nothing comes up on this and I’m wondering if anyone has noticed this behavior or if it is something going wrong because of styling - or something else? This is a fresh install of Evo 1.0.2 and all the pointed-to documents reside on the same site.

And while I’m at it, can anyone tell me what the little icon to the right of "Weblink" is supposed mean, link to, or do when one is defining its parameters?

I’ve got the same issue once a while,
check the [+wf.attributes+] placeholder to insert it in your row template,

You should create a row template chunk,
and insert it in to your wayfinder code like &rowTpl=’row_template’

The little icon allows you to click on the document you want to link to in the Document Tree to insert its ID if your weblink is pointing to an internal MODx document. It works like (in fact is a direct ripoff of) the javascript for setting a document’s parent. Clicking on the icon overrides the "view this document" onclick function of the Tree. And yes, I know, the icon doesn’t change when clicked, like the "Parent" icon does; someday I (or somebody) will fix that.
