Menu disappears when adding &displayStart

EDIT: Running EVO RC1

I was building a small group of menus for my footer. I have a bunch of wayfinder calls they’re all identical:

While searching for a solution I came across this older post:

This person had the same problem - adding &startDisplay=`TRUE` makes the menu disappear. Regardless of what I do I can’t EVER get this to show up:

So, the menu always shows up when I delete the &displayStart parameter, but the heading or [+wf.linktext+] never shows up.
Any ideas?

Strange indeed....Never experienced this. Could you tell us more about your testing environment? I’m just fishing here...

Well, not sure how much more I can tell other than I’m using PHP 5.2.5, MySQL 5.0.45, Apache 2.0.63

What else would you like to know?

For one thing, are you using &displayStart or &startDisplay? One is correct, one is not.

Ha! Sorry transposed that in the title of the post but I am using &displayStart...

OK. I’m really stumped about this one. I have copied your code above exactly, put that to a test menu and I cannot reproduce your problem. The menu is output correctly.

I can only think of a missing backtick maybe? A mis-pelling somewhere? What does WF debug say? Have you checked the source code to see if the menu appears there? Sorry, I don’t mean to be condescending here...just trying to eliminate the possible culprits.

I tested it also, and by chance used a container I had that was set to not show in menu; it didn’t display anything. Setting the container/parent document to show in menu, or using the &ignoreHidden parameter, then it did display the menu. Could that be your problem?

I feel a little silly now. That was it. I thought that since it was published it wouldn’t matter for the h2 tag. This isn’t the first time Susan’s come to my rescue. Thanks again!
