Having Problems with Wayfinder snippet

Hello:

I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I’m having a problem using the Wayfinder snippet -- my menus are not showing up at all. I have the latest stable release of ModX installed.

In my header chunk I have the following:

<h1><a href="#">Test Site</a></h1>
<h2>
Test
</h2>
[[Wayfinder? &startId=`0`&level=`1`&limit=`2`&outerClass=`nav`&innerClass=`subnav`]]


But for the life of me I can’t get any menus to show up at all.

The call looks good. I am wondering about the outerTpl, did you include the [+wp.wrapper+] placeholder? Also there is the possibility that the pags are not published or that they do not have ’shoe in menu’ selected, and also the possibility that they are in a ’private’ doc group.

Just re-read he question and there is no outerTpl, strike that part.

thanks for your help. Yes the pages are published and they "show in menu" is selected for each page. But how can I check to see if they are in a private doc group?

Private documents usually have a small padlock on the icon in the doc tree, and you can see if a Document Group is selected. If you did not set a private group then it will not be the problem.

I pasted your call into m test site and it worked no problem. So the call is good. The reason must be something else.

Is this on a working site or are you starting a new site?

I’m working on a new site. And I’m relatively new to ModX so it could be I’m doing something stupid.

well, if it is a new site then you would know if there were any private document groups. Not sure what could be the problem.

You say this is in a header chunk. How are you calling the chunk? Make sure there are no typos or different capitalization. For example {{headerChunkName}} is not == to {{headerchunkname}}

Have you tried right clicking and "Show source" just to verify that no menu points have been generated?

I had a problem last week with wayfinder where it indeed put out the menu, but the css rendered out so that the a tags/list tags were very tiny so it seemed as if no menu came out, when it actually did.

So I would try and "Show source", just to see what comes out.
