I have a navigation based on <ul>’s that basically looks like:
Category 1
-- big heading 1
-- big heading 2
-----subcat 1
-----subcat2
-- bigheading 3
Category 2
Category 3
The first level of the tree, the category headings, trigger a slide down javascript and therefore can not have links so i changed them to category folders (using rel=category in the attributes) and modified them to have an href of #.
The next level, the big headings, use parentRowTpl to just show their links and not their children. This is because I want these headings to be landing pages for the subcategory fields.
Then, finally, when the people reach the subcategories, I use activeParentRowTpl to negate the above and have the current parent show it’s children. HOWEVER, the issue comes because this is applied all the way up the tree which negates the CATEGORY template and makes that a link- which it can’t be, it needs to still be a blank # href.
Any ideas on how to keep those category links blank? I’ve tried changing the processing order in the Wayfinder config to process ’category’ first but it doesn’t work. Is there any way to tell activeParentRowTpl to just process one parent up or just to not overwrite CategoryTpl?
Is there a better way to go about doing all of this?
