Greetings ModX’ers,
I’ve just recently made the jump to ModX from various other free CMS’s and I have to say I’m quite impressed thus far.
I am trying to create a dynamic version of DHTML Goodies Slide Down Menu Found here:
http://www.dhtmlgoodies.com/scripts/slidedown-menu2/slidedown-menu2.html
And i have had no problem integrating it into ModX as Wayfinder outputs my menu as a perfectly usable <ul> as can be seen here:
http://www.stevebeyatte.com/modx/index.php
Now when you click on each of the first ones, it links to that page and displays its’ contents. My ISSUE is two-fold:
1. The boxes for About Us and Spanish Courses should not be LINKS to those pages as landing pages, they should just be to ’#’ so that that part of the menu opens and displays the contents. I have been working with the template configs for Wayfinder for a while now and to no avail. I have been able to change those links to blank #’s, but then it stops displaying the children under it too! How can i get those ’grandparent’ links to be #’s while still displaying their children?
As of right now, wayfinder is called as per completely normal with no modifiers, except that i have changed it to hide sub menus in the config.
2. The java-script for the menu has interfered with the SimpleEdit thing overlaybox and it does not display, is there any way around this?
Thanks so much for the help, i’m quite surprised more people don’t use this menu as it includes more levels and is super easy to generate because it’s just an <ul>. The only problem comes with stuff like this and making some pages landing and some not.
Thanks again!
