Different styling for menu items with a sublevel and menu items without

How would I set up WayFinder to display two different styles depending on whether the main level item has sub level items or not? Ie: when it does, I want an arrow to show up, and when it doesn’t, I don’t.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

If the main level item has sub level items it means it is a parent so you can use &parentRowTpl. You can include the "arrow" in the &parentRowTpl chunk as follows:



Notice the arrow » above.

For non-parent row items, you can use a different type of row level template, for instance, the &rowTpl

Your &rowTpl could look like this:



Wayfinder will use this template for non-parent items.

The end result should be all parent items will have arrows and the other non-parent items will not have arrows. You can style the menus in other ways to your heart’s content....I hope this answers your question.

The question is for the same menu, but it’s not related to this one as it’s for another section in the template.

Hmm. I’ve done exactly what you said, but now it’s applying the class name I put into rowTpl to all parent items as well, even though the parentTpl chunk specifies not to have that class. Do you know why this would be?

Could it be because I’m only showing the top level of navigation in the top bar of the template, where I’m trying to apply this? I don’t want the sub-menus to display at this point, until they are clicked on (which then get taken over to another area of the template). See http://s268800542.onlinehome.us/willowood/

Also, I’ve switched it - so now the row top level is the main styling, and the parent top level is the special class, but again, now the class isn’t showing up in the items that *are* parents.

Okay, I was right - that’s the issue. I’ve solved it for every page that doesn’t have a submenu, because I can say show all levels but hide the submenus. However, that doesn’t work for pages that DO have a submenu - what can I do to get around it? I need a way to show all levels while also hiding the current submenus. Is there a setting available for that?
