Accordion menu with Wayfinder

Evening guys - me again

I got my standard navigation working so i thought i would try something a little more advanced; but once again i am having a few problems understanding the nuances of Wayfinder and seek your council.

As noted by some other members of the board in my previous post the CSS/layout for the template is a little unorthodox as it is split in to two separate containers but I have my reasons for doing this.

The page i have designed has a fixed height (but variable/stretchy width) banner/header section with some of the navigation in it; then there is a break (HR) and then the main content part of the website which is variable/stretches height and width. The top three navigation items are also "fixed" in so much that they will never have any sub documents underneath them; they are top level only. Now i know i could have a floating DIV which is effectively above the background stuff and crosses over everything and is continuous but - when i tried this it made somethings break and there are subtle spacing issues as a result of the red HR bar in the middle there so i stuck with the old way for now...

Now in the menu in the bottom section is a little different - some of the pages have children, others don’t and there is likely to be more pages added to the site (with or without sub documents) and as such they should appear in this part of the menu. Let me demonstrate with a picture:



Now if you point your browser at www.deevee.co.uk/null/cms you will see what i have so far; that being the bottom half of the menu only showing the children of the Dairy node which is not really what i wanted; i have tried various variation on the Wayfinder call snippet to no avail - at the moment it looks like this



What i am aiming for is having all the sub pages collapsed inside their parents in the menu until a parent is clicked upon - aka an accordion menu.
Accordingly i headed of to http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Accordion_menu_with_Wayfinder and followed the instructions there-in. The results of the accordion menu are currently being displayed with the default styling (i’ll fix that later) are in the middle of my template (i shall move it when it is working properly).

I’m having issues here too - if you look at the accordion on say the home page there is a dairy link but clicking on it doesn’t make the underlying Classes and Spring show stuff appear. The only way i have found to make these children appear is to goto the page for classes or spring show (using the side menu).

Any tips on getting my accordion working properly and then working with a start ID of 14 (i.e. it starts at the 4th item in my tree) would be much appreciated. Please refer to my other post to see some of the CSS and HTML associated with these pages, if you need to see anything else I shall put it up.

Evening all,

I am trying to implement an accordion menu for a site as a big footer. I have followed the instructions found here http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Accordion_menu_with_Wayfinder in order to have an effect shown here http://demos.openrico.org/demos/accordion , in short my call for wayfinder is as follows:

The output is two blue bars top and bottom with no menu, I have tried to debug where I am going wrong and removing the &outerTpl=`wfOuter` from the call gives me the menu output but not in the correct format.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
