Number of queries in Wayfinder?

Hello,

we’re working on optimising our MODx sites. Some pages where we use wayfinder 2 times to build a main navigation and a subnavigation area, and that cannot be cached, show us that Wayfinder creates about 121 queries to build these to menus. I would think that Wayfinder would need only 1 query to simply load all the content records from the DB and then parse the resultset using PHP? This large number of queries gives a huge load on our mySQL db with large traffic sites.

My first question is why can’t these Wayfinder calls be cached?

Next, are you using TV’s with Wayfinder?

Finally, could you not accomplish your menu using an optimized menu snippet that did not have all the bells and whistles of Wayfinder?
