Independant Row and Sub Menu Row code?

Hello,

I’m trying to fix a bug with Multiflex’s dropdown menu and IE6 and I have narrowed it down, but don’t know how to fix it.

This is what I need:

      <ul>
        <li><a href="#">Drop-down Menu<!--[if IE 7]><!--></a><!--<![endif]-->
          <!--[if lte IE 6]><table><tr><td><![endif]-->
            <ul>
              <li><a href="#">Menu subitem 1</a></li>
              <li><a href="#">Menu subitem 2</a></li>
             </ul>
          <!--[if lte IE 6]></td></tr></table></a><![endif]-->
        </li>
      </ul>

If you notice the 2nd line of code... The link is closed in the IE7 markup and on line 8 in the IE markup. My problem is I can’t figure out how to remove the a from the 2nd line without breaking the rest of the menu.

The solution appears to be changing the rowtpl from:

<ul><li><a href="[+wf.link+]" title="[+wf.title+]">[+wf.linktext+]</a>[+wf.wrapper+]</li></ul>

to

<ul><li><a href="[+wf.link+]" title="[+wf.title+]">[+wf.linktext+][+wf.wrapper+]</li></ul>

I’m sure if you know wayfinder you will notice that by making this change it affects all my links and not just the dropdown links...

SO.... Anyone here have a magical fix I can apply?

(I already tried making IE6 vanish forever, but it’s still here so I guess that didn’t work... embarrassed

If I understood correctly you need to use the &parentRowTpl to style the menu items with children and the rowTpl for those without.

&parentRowTpl
default: NULL
values: name of template chunk
description: The parentRowTpl template is used when processing items that are folders with their children being displayed in the menu.
available placeholders: Same as RowTpl.
example:
 <li[+wf.classes+]>
    	<a href="[+wf.link+]" title="[+wf.title+]">[+wf.linktext+]»</a>
    	[+wf.wrapper+]
    </li>
