Wayfinder install instructions

I can’t for the life of me figure out what: "Copy the contents of snippet.wayfinder.tpl.php into the snippet." is? I was trying to follow the install instructions on both ModX site and MuddyDogPaws and they both refer to this in the steps, but I don’t see such a file in the download? What am I missing?

The step that you are describing.. "Copy the contents of snippet.wayfinder.tpl.php into the snippet." is saying that you need to login to the manager, go to the "manage resources" section and then to the "snippets" tab and create a new snippet named "Wayfinder" and copy the contents of the snippet.wayfinder.tpl.php file to the newly created snippet.

It is a two step installation: 1) upload the wayfinder folder to assets/snippets/wayfinder; and 2) copy the contents of snippet.wayfinder.tpl.php to a newly created snippet in the MODx manager snippet interface.

Then to use a snippet you call it by the same name that you defined when creating the new snippet.

BTW - You can install wayfinder during the installation of MODx. I have never installed it individually so I have never considered the instructions before.

OK, Yes I figured that was the case. I have downloaded 3 versions of wayfinder and have yet to unzip a file "snippet.wayfinder.tpl.php" the contents of which I can copy to a snippet made in the manager. Where exactly do I find this file to copy it’s contents?

In an attempt to clear this up for those of us that are new to this environment and did not install Wayfinder during the original install of Modx.

Install Wayfinder

I fished around until I figured this out. I hope it helps others who have lost there Wayfinder!

If you’re running Revolution, just download Wayfinder via Package Management, then install it by clicking on the "Install" button, and you’re done... It’s functionnal you can use it immediately

In an attempt to clear this up for those of us that are new to this environment and did not install Wayfinder during the original install of Modx.

No snippets / templates / are installed during the install process with Revo so everything is done via the packet manager now

For Evo, if you didn’t install something with the installation, the text files to copy/paste are found in the install folder. For example, for Wayfinder it’s install/assets/snippets/wayfinder.tpl.
