Newbie question re: Wayfinder and positioning the sub-menu

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a search on the forums and I can’t find anything specific out there re: my problem, but if there is then apologies!

I basically have a top level menu e.g. Home | About | Services | etc. etc. this is at the top of my page.

When you click on any of the top level items, it takes you to that page, but then I have a sub-menu for some of the pages that sits in the left hand column e.g.

You click on About at the top, reloads to the about page and this is highlighted in the top menu, but then in the left column the sub-menu should read:
Profiles
History
Company Info
etc.
etc.

Both menu’s in the HTML use different <ul><li> coding so do I need to link them into one <ul><li> menu for starters?!

After this I am just stumped as to how to get this to work - I’ve spent a few days tweaking but to no avail, so far I can only show the top level menu (and it doesn’t highlight when I’m on the relevant page). I can’t get any sub-menus to appear anywhere!

Any help/pointers to coding/examples would be really appreciated!

Use a second Wayfinder call where you want the sub menu to appear:

This would show the child pages of the parent document.
It will need styling etc. by tpl chunks, just as the main menu was.

Sorry to drag up an old post but im new to Modx, but WOW what brilliant piece of kit, loving it, but im having a problem with the above scenario,

Basically I can make the sub menu appear on the page by using [!Wayfinder? &startId=`[*id*]`!] but when I click one of the sub menu items, its takes me to the page but the sub menu disappears, how do I make it stay while im still in that section?

A visual example of what im trying to do can be seen on this modx powered site http://www.aussievineyards.com/au/aboutus Your notice the sub menu for the about section and you can click through and the sub menu stays.

Again any help would be appreciated
