where is the template

I have successfully used wayfinder to generate my menus.
The problem Im having is changing the default templates.
If for example I use &outerTpl in the snippet call where is the actual outerTpl editable?
Hopefull this makes sense because the documentation has all the Template Parameters
but where are these?
Do I create a template variable called outerTpl and but my code in there?

Any help will be much appreciated?

Create a chunk named myOuter and & then use in the snippet call.

Thats what I was doing but my snippet was not in my template but in the content variable for the page.
Got it working. Can I ask one more question. In the documentation it has the following.

where is wf.classes editable?
