I’m trying to get the hang of Wayfinder at the moment, following some of the examples, particularly the Accordian menu example on Wiki.
I cannot get it to work however. I have included the JS etc, but I still just get a static display of all my documents.
What I really want to do is to make a menu inside a document that looks like the document tree in the ModX Manager. I don’t want any fancy flyouts, just the ability to click on one part of the tree and then have the sub documents for it appear, and then disappear again when the root document is clicked on. I can’t seem to find any hints on how to achieve this, especially as I do not want to use Javascript if possible.
Can anyone send me to any links that might have some tutorials on how to make this type of menu? I’ve checked the Muddypaws website, but there doesn’t appear to be anything similar to my requirements.
I wrote a snippet to do it rather than Wayfinder.
Not sure you could do it as CSS only, had a quick Google for one but they all have some JS.
I’ve uploaded it to the In Development forum and put a link in my signature.
With JS-only menus like these, I’d make sure there is an alternative for searchbots (i.e. <noscript>regular links here</noscript>) as well... could probably be automated as well.
