Sorting alphabetically to certain point?

Does anyone know how or if it’s possible to create a menu including only x - y documents?

For example, I have a menu:

-A
-B
-C
-
-
-
-Z

I want to use a couple different wayfinder calls to call A-D, E-H, I-L, and so on. Is this a wayfinder thing or should I use Ditto and sort by TV’s?

[EDIT] I wasn’t very clear, sorry. I’m aware of the &includeDocs etc, but wanted one Wayfinder call to select all the grandchildren and display them in one of my templates. I’ve got it working now, not exactly how I wanted, but it’s working.

Can you post how you did it? I’m wanting to create a list of a range of documents and there’s far too many to include/exclude individually.

Unfortunately my solution was no where near elegant or even efficient. Since I was in a hurry I just went to the parent document and created containers called: A-E, F-K, L-P, Q-Z. Then I just set up a wayfinder call to build links based on the children of the containers. Like I said, not elegant. I’m sure someone has a better way to handle this. In fact, I have no idea if it could be done, but it would be an amazing feat to be able to say, "I need three columns of links, equal in length, and alphabetized" and have wayfinder spit it out that way. I guess I’m a dreamer, but somebody’s gotta do it.

LOL ... well the closest solution I’ve been able to find so far is using Ditto and a custom extender to either grab and display according to a range of document id’s or first letter of the page title. How to implement that however is what I’m still trying to figure out. That would work for my purposes but I’m not sure if it helps you.

I’ve got a list of approx 600 definitions (arranged ascending both alphabetically and id) which need to be accessible but their quantity is too much for a menu listing of each item so my idea was they’re not displayed in the menu, they all live in the same container and I have separate documents each listing definition links within the range 0-9, A-D, etc

Best of all, there’s no TV involved so I can save that learning curve for another day.
