Way to have [+wf.title+] grab the description, instead of the page title?

I’m starting to implement Wayfinder into my site’s navigation. I have a quick question, which is posted in the thread subject. By default, Wayfinder seems to grab the link’s title. I want it to do the description, so I could have more detailed information, if the user decided to hover over the link.

(Another quick question..., does setting the level of the snippet to search to 1 make it so it only searches the immediate children? In some pages, I have sub-sections, and I don’t want those showing if at all possible.)

EDIT: Another quick question. I’m making a sitemap for my website. Now, I have unpublished pages being used as "folders" for published content. Is there a way to get Wayfinder to override it’s default action of "hiding" them (and therefore any children attached to them)?

Am I way off here or can’t you just put in whatever you want as a place holder? [+wf.description+] Have you tried it at least? Curious to know.

You certainly can use [+wf.description+], I do on some of my sites.

Nah, I hadn’t been able to try it, since I had to get it working pretty quickly. But I’ll try that next time I work on my site.

[+wf.description+] place the description, but the correct way to use the description in replacement of the title would be to use this script:


If you are using custom template make sure to use [+wf.title+] to place the description.
