Wayfinder menu format when going down the structure

Hi,

I am trying to do a special menu with Wayfinder and cannot find the solution.
Hope someone will be able to help me or tell me if this cannot be achieved.

I have the following document structure:
- Home
- About Us
--- Vision and Mission
--- Senior Management
--- News and Events
- Contact Us
...

I have a horizontal top menu with Home | About Us | Contact Us | ...

I have a vertical left side menu for sub content. For "About Us" it is
Vision and Mission
Senior Management
News and Events

Both menus are done with Wayfinder.

I have defined a top menu color change to show in which directory I am.
So when I click on "About Us" the text changes from orange to blue.
But my problem is that as soon as I click on one of the left menu, e.g. Senior Management, the top menu color indication disappears.

My question is how to make the "current position indicator" in the top menu remaining when a child document in the left menu is clicked?
