wayfinder external menu?

Hey, I have modx installed on my web hosting website and i’m using an independant site to sell the hosting and domains... What I wondered is, can I some how get my wayfinder menu to show up out with modx?

If it’s a single-level menu, use Ditto to generate a feed and pick it up on your external site, style the feed as desired.

I forgot to mention, the other site is not modx. How would i use ditto to use the wayfinder menu that way? Thanks.

You’d need to install MODx to get the menu on the other site most likely. You could possibly grab a static copy of the output, but you might loose any "you are here" classes, etc. Of course I could be wrong (happens too frequently), but nothing comes up off the top of my head that would make this 100% pain free.

Generate a very simple list of links with Ditto as an rss feed. On the other site, use a feed import script to "consume" the feed and style it as usual. It will only change if your MODx site changes.

ok what I have tried was....

Created the rss ditto page using the basics [!Ditto? &startID=`24` &format=`rss`!] xml format blank template

created document 24 with the basic wayfinder call [!Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &level=`1`!] blank template

The outcome in the feed was only the wayfiner call and not the results of the wayfinder call. Do i have to create these links manually or can i pull them from wayfinder, then put them in to the ditto rss feed?

I did try to understand what to do but not quite getting the results.

Yeah I have... i did try it but wasn’t successful with it at all.

The other site i’m using uses rhtml files as it’s a templating system so I assume it couldn’t use the php. What do I know, I’m just a designer lol.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of using Ditto with a custom template to generate the "menu" rather than Wayfinder. Ditto makes lists just like Wayfinder does, only not nested. Your feed would be a normal RSS feed, only having the links, no extra descriptive text, and you could use that as the menu in your external pages.

I don’t suppose anyone could help me with exactly what to do with this... time is getting a little tight for me and I don’t have much free time to figure this one out. If anyone can help that would be great.
