IE6 dropdown menus laggy

I know this most likely is not a problem with wayfinder, but I thought I’d post here to see if anyone else has seen this.

In firefox and IE7 the menu I’ve got looks fine, but in IE6 it is very laggy. After moving the cursor off of the link it takes forever for the original up position image to display. In the image you can see that the three buttons are still in the down position after I’ve moved the cursor off. It lags by as much as 3 seconds before they return to original state.

Anyone else seen this and have any thoughts?

Could you post your url so that we can take a look? There is no way to tell what goes wrong without seeing your CSS.

One question is how is your menu graphic generated? Is it CSS with background images or some other. It is likely that you are just seeing the difference in rendering speed in IE6 vs the other browsers. In addition there could be issues with multiple CSS files and JS if it is called for the menu as well.

A link would surely help us advise.

Thanks guys. I’m thinking maybe it is as you suggest Jay, but then I’m not sure why it works fine on cssplay when viewing in ie6.

Okay, so now it’s working.

Weirdness. I would say a problem with the server, but why would IE6 be the only one affected by a server problem?

As long as you’re looking, is that flash effect normal under IE6 as well? As you click on the different links I notice a flash as the page changes over. Not there in Firefox or IE7.... I take that back. I’m seeing it in IE7 as well (at least the stand-alone version. Haven’t tested on full-install IE7 to see if different)

The flicker effect is a "feature" of IE!
I think there are some JS fixes around and if I remember one in the .htaccess file.
