Some newbie questions

I’ve been trying to get wayfinder working for a few hours now, and I’m a little confused to say the least.

I downloaded and installed MODx 0.9.6.1p2 rev 3281. Wayfinder 2.0 appears to be bundled (pre-installed) as it appears in MANAGE RESOURCES > SNIPPETS.

I looked at the examples based at muddydogpaws.com and decided on "Ultimate Dropdown ... probably just because it had the word ultimate in

I placed the "snippet call" in my template and it creates a simple UL list. So far so good.

Next, onto the chunks. I copied the code from the above pages and created two new chunks. I couldn’t see any info about whether the chunks "Chunk Name:" should be "&parentRowTpl=`cssplay_revParentRow`" or just "cssplay_revParentRow" so I tried both, can anyone enlighten me on this?

Having created the chunks, I saw that "cssplay_ultdrop" is a call to a stylesheet that doesn’t exist on my site, so I hunted down the stylesheet used on the example page from the source code and copied that to the correct location on my site ... assets/templates/wayfinder/ultimate_drop.css

At this point I’m expecting to see something working, but it’s not.

I’d be very grateful of any information that points me in the right directon.

The chunks should be named "cssplay_revParentRow" to use them from the Wayfinder call is "&parentRowTpl=`cssplay_revParentRow`"

Thanks for the info .. I’ve been looking at the docs for wayfinder 1.xx I think. I stopped looking at the web and looked at the files (via ftp!) that were bundled in modX install and got things working. The problem with things being bundled is you are more likely to look on the web for guidance, rather than in the snippet folder. I installed MODx by SSH into the terminal and downloading it straight to the server. Therefore, I never had the docs on my own computer. I can’t find any WF 2.xx info on the web, only the 1.xx info, as there was no newer info I just went with that.

Anyway, thanks for the quick answer bunk58, I’ll continue on my own for a while and come backif there are any further problems.

There is a very handy and complete word file documentation for WF available in the wiki. I think that the title of the post is Wayfinder 200 or something like that. In the first paragraph there is a link to this doc.
