i'm giving up on the wayfinder!

hey everybody

it’s all getting really frustrating. i’m digging myself for days through the wayfinder like crazy but whatever i do i cannot get it to work. so i give up and wanted to ask if anybody wants the job. i’m offering a little money to built a dropline menu with two levels. the main and the sub level should be visible at all time. also the submenu line should be formatable separately from the mainmenu line (in terms of font size and BG images).

Florian, can you get it working as you wish in a static HTML mockup? That’s the first step to getting anything to work with dynamically generated menus.

If you can do that and put a link here to your demo, I’m certain it’d be straightforward to make a few simple WF templates and parameter tweaks.

Trying to get Wayfinder to do something slightly out of the ordinary can be frustrating, especially if you’re new to it.

If both the main and the submenu will be visible all the time, it sounds like it won’t really be a dropline menu.

I wonder if two separate Wayfinder menus would do what you want. The top one would be a straight list (Parent=0, Level=1). The second could be a dropline or dropdown menu. You could style them to look like a single menu and you could definitely apply a different style to each level.
