Modifying Wayfinder for PVll's PMM

Can any of you Wayfinder gurus gives a direction?

I got an impression that Wayfinder’s dropdown is using Suckerfish script, but I don’t see it in the code, and I need to do a dropdown menu, however I really dislike the CSSPlay dropdown and flyout as they hacks too much to make the IE works (because CSS is not a scripting language therefor whatever hacks Mr Stu Nicholls came out, IMHO is not an elegant solution and actually very hard to manuever for the flyout menu).


Instead, I would love to utilize my PVll PMM. Last time I made a site in Etomite, I was able to use the NavMenu Snippet that outputs  Suckerfish for dropdown, I can’t remember exactly what I did, but I was able to replace the Suckerfish script to PVll’s PMM. Thought I may have the same luck with Wayfinder as I vaguely remember the Mollio templates for Etomite are using the NavMenu and Suckerfish; I see there is a mollio.config.php in Wayfinder, however I don’t see any references to Suckerfish script, thus unable to make a sense how to modify or make replacement for PMM.

Wayfinder by default generates a nested unordered list. You can set classnames for just about every part of the list for use in your CSS. Then you can create HTML chunks for each part of your menu to make them be anything you want, from tables to divs to definition lists. Again, each part can be given custom classnames for styling.

For a plain-vanilla Suckerfish, the default unordered lists should be fine, just assign classnames in the snippet call’s parameters to suit your purpose. Take a look at the documentation for your options. http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Wayfinder200

Thank you Susan, I also found the ’Accordion menu with Wayfinder’ in the Wiki, I think I can follow the tutorial there, and modify the WF to work with PMM script.

By the way, for those who are looking for a better free dropdown menu system to replace the CSSPlay’s one, Project Seven has one. I think it’s OK to modify it for Modx but you may want to double check if you are interested to try it out.
