Wayfinder Dropdown CSS issue in IE 5.01 and 5.5

Hi there,

I’m developing a site for a client, The primary navigation at the top of the site uses a menu from MuddyDogPaws that works with the Wayfinder snippet.

The menu works fine in Safari, Firefox and IE 7,6.
However in IE 5.5 and IE 5.0 then sub menus of the primary navigation do not show up at all. display:block is used to show the sub-menus, and this should be fine in ie 5.5 + 5.0?

I have the same issue @ http://www.crickweb.co.uk
My understanding was that it’s not possible with anything earlier than IE6
To be honest we’ve had one person out of thousands say "what sub menu"
But if anyone knows of a solution then I’m all ears!

I’m having the same problem with a project i’m dealing with.
The poitn is that in IE 5.5 and 6 there is no hover state for a <li>
It’s only possible to hover above an <a> element.

Normally it’s possible with javascript to overrule this issue.. but it aint works for me.

Stu at CSSPlay has some menus that work in IE without using javascript.
