Wayfinder: IE fights with FireFox (CSS error?)

I’m having a challence where my menu is displayed correctly in FF, but when I open the page in IE, the menu suddenly appears somewhere in the middle of the page, far from where it needs to be.

It’s so annoying. I know it must be some small change I need to make, but I can’t seem to find WHERE!

What am I doing wrong so that IE messes up the menu? Any suggestions for change?

PS. I’m also having problems with changing the color of the current page in my Wayfinder menu. My current css code:

One possible solution I can think of would be to let Wayfinder make an id="currentPage" instead of a class="active ’currentPage’". If I only knew how! For now, any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Getting IE to play nice with standard presentation rules is a whole skillset in itself. It’s nothing you are doing wrong, it’s a matter of learning what IE does wrong and how to work around it.

That said, try giving the left column a right margin, and the right column a left margin, of the remaining space in your wrapper container. Alternatively, you could try floating them both left, as that will cause them to line up from left to right as space allows.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately it didn’t work. The menu is just placed somewhere else.... not in the right place...

The /* & */ means it’s commented out, try removing the /* & */ tags
