Is it possible to 'tell' wayfinder which menu item is active?

I have a situation where a I need to have wayfinder think that the doc in in one tree when it is actually in another. Anyone know if there is a way to hack wayfinder to get this effect? My logic would be to add a parameter to change the ’here’ state to a predefined id rather than the dynamic one. I took a look at the code but I don’t understand how classes work and cant figure out where this takes place.

Yes, but I need to tell wayfinder to mark a document (menu item) as active when it is not the active document. I am trying to fool wayfinder into thinking that I am in one container but in reality I am in another.

can you explain better your exact need because actually im thinking that maybe you can use Getfield to retreive the info from the other page.. leaving wayfinder unchanged.
