Editing info in custom DB tables from the backend

I am getting to grips with xpdo and custom DBs thanks to bobs tutorial http://bobsguides.com/custom-db-tables.html and am well on the way to putting all information in custom tables - much neater!

I would like to use this on websites, but need a way for manager users to modify information in the backend. What is the best way to search for the desired record and basically have full CRUD management of records within a custom table within the Modx Revo backend?

at least for me the fastest way to create CMPs for custom tables is to use xdbedit and configure it for my tables.

To modify the grid and create new processors for filtering for example needs a bit extjs and of course php/xpdo-knowledge.
