Wayfinder - using the parent as the startId.

Is it possible to call Wayfinder so that the startId is the current document’s parent?

&startID=`[*parent*]`

Should or could?
If it should be both, Why use idID ?
if meant "could" be both - http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,24362.msg149857.html#msg149857 say it "should" be only!
who is right, please?

Regarding the future one should add: in Revolution (MODx v 2.x) you should use

&startId=`[[*parent]]`
