Show One level up when showing a child document

I have

my current call is as follows [[Wayfinder? &level=`1`]]

I’m trying to make a sub -nav.. so as you drill down this follows ... but when get as far as you can go I’d like it to show the "peer" children ..

example
cat 1
-item 1
-item 2
-item 3

when I’m viewing cat 1 it shows item 1 item 2 and item 3 .. but if I click on item 2 it now shows nothing, I would like it to still show it’s peers.

in my site there may be more than one layer deep .. unlike the example.

Any thoughts, opinions, or slanderous remarks are welcome!

You could also use a TV with default @INHERIT to hold the menu, and edit it for the main section parent docs; then the whole subsection will always show the same menu.
