    Hi everyone,

Sorry for the awkward re-post. I originally posted this under General Support, but it got buried very quickly and I think this board might possibly be a better place to post.

I’m currently using ModX Evolution 1.0.2 (but can easily upgrade) for a corporate Intranet site. What I would like to know is if it is possible to do the following:

I have a huge list of PDFs on one page laid out as follows

    Section 1

    • PDF 1
    • PDF 2
    Section 2

    • PDF 3
    • PDF 4
    • PDF 5
    • PDF 6
    ...
    etc. for 7 sections.

Is there any way I can put the "Section X" in a drop-down box at the top of the page so that when "Section 1" is selected in the drop-down box only "PDF 1" and "PDF 2" are listed on the page (and when "Section 2" is selected, PDFs 3,4,5&6 are listed etc.)?

    Thanks, Kahli.

I can think of several ways to do this; a custom AJAX solution would be one way. I would use Notes (an extension to Jot), which would add the benefit of being able to use the same page for adding files. Just modify the image upload script to be files instead of images. Besides the file upload field, the form tpl would have a drop-down to select the "category", which in this case would represent the section. A bit of fiddling with the output tpl would take care of displaying the lists.

        Thanks sottwell,

I’m not too familiar with anything outside html/css but because this isn’t an urgent project I can take my time looking at Jot and Notes and the hacks you made. I should learn a lot.

        Thanks again,

        Kahli
