Linking to an external site with a wayfinder menu item

Greetings. I have a footer navigation menu that includes menu items for documents (Web pages) within the site under development, as well as a single menu item the directs to an external site. Should I ’hardcode’ this into the row template, or is there a more effective/elegant/better solution?

Create a Weblink in the document tree instead of a document and you can point it where you like.

Thanks. Obviously I’m new to MODx. My solution was to create a doc and include rel=external as a link attribute, but your suggestion is more appropriate.
