Hi, sorry i have been pulling what little hair i have left out over this today...

    1. Did you also remember to set the link attributes of the 2nd level menu items (the category headings)  to rel="category" ?
    Yes

    2. Are you testing on a live site? If you are could you put a link here so that we can have a look at the generated source code?
    Yes...
    http://www.creativeinjection.com

Have you confirmed the paths you have in your template pointing to your css and js files are correct? & Have you confirmed those css and js files actually exist?

Yes... you can call the individual files by the relevant URL’s as pasted from template.

Confirm the copy and paste actually pasted the correct code - backticks, double quotes, etc.
Yes... Even re-created them from scratch

I have noticed that when I view source or use FF web tools that it does not seem like the styles are no longer being applied... but everything seems to be correct.

If it would help I can PM you backend access... The site is only a concept/testing site at the moment so nothing there to cause any issues for either of us.

It’s driving me mad as the CSS etc work locally on my ’standard’ HTML version and I have not changed it from day 1.

I have looked at your source code and I see several problems. I think you are still using the fist solution I posted. Use the second solution here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,36309.msg219492.html#msg219492

Here are the issues I have noted:

      1. You have several <ul> tags. The way the menu is structured, the only <ul> tags are in the outerTpl which is only applied once. So, you either constructed your innerTpl wrongly, or you haven’t specified an innerTpl so the outerTpl is being used as the outer part/container of your sub-menus.

      2. Your outerTpl seem not to be properly constructed - the <ul> needs the id "menu" - This is not present in your source code.

      3. categoryFoldersTpl is wrongly constructed - I see no <h3> nor <p> tags at all. These should be there if you used the second solution I provided.

      4. The menu items in the 3rd level (clubs and societies, etc) are surrounded by <li> tags. This means that your innerRowTpl has <li> tags. This was the case for the first solution I provided not the second solution. In the second, working solution, these items should only be surrounded by <a> tags and each item should have a , (comma) after it. In your case this too is not happening.

The above tell me that you are probably still using the first solution I provided. Are you sure you are using the second solution I posted?

Confirm these issues. If it still doesn’t work, PM  me access.

      cheers/k

        Hi
A BIG thanks to kongondo the WF Guru (my words - not his) for helping me fix my display issues... My WayFinder Call was calling the Tpl’s incorrectly.

If you read through this thread there should be enough info courtesy of kongondo to make these ’mega menus’ work in Modx for which I am very thankful.

Credit should also go to Raena at sitepoint for the article this was based on.

I will continue the experiment/development of my site and will post a ’tutorial’ link ASAP.
