Goodmorning,
I want to use friendly urls in my website, i have given all my pages an document alias.
then whenever i click on a link he gives the right name in the navigation bar like
www.mywebsite.com/contact
But he gives an 404 error that he can’t find the page.
what am i to do to let the pages work properly.
im not a code expert so what is the easiest solution.
greetz,

You need to rename the ht.access file in the MODx root directory to .htaccess and possibly modify the friendly URL lines in it.
See this:
http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Friendly_URLs_Guide
when i change the ht.access file in to .htaccess and i upload it it’s gone.
doesn’t show in the root directory of my website.
what do i change to that?
greetz,
davincio

Configure your FTP client to show "hidden" files. On *nix type systems, such as Linux, Solaris and OS X files that begin with a . are considered hidden system files, and by default won’t show in file browsers whether local or remote.
