Horizontal main menu and vertical submenu

I have one main horizontal menu and inside this one submenu vertical menu.
I am updating my html web site and I have my css and html main file updated.
I want to transform my main html file to work with MODx but I have not found clear documentation for that how enable my main horizontal menu and vertical submenu in MODx

Please, suggest clear documentation to keep on with the enable my navigation menus and keep on with the updating html web site to MODx environment.

Note: the http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Beginner%27s_Guide_to_MODx does not explain clearly the navigation changes.
