    Hi All,

I’m new in Modx ... Need your help please smiley
I have Documents/Articels tree like below, and want to make Navigation Menu (at left area) + DropDown Menu (at top area) :
    =============================

    + Home
    + Cars
    + Honda
    - car1
    - car2
    + Suzuki
    - car3
    - car4
    + MotorCycle
    + Honda
    - motorcycle1
    - motorcycle2
    + Suzuki
    - motorcycle3
    - motorcycle4

    + AboutUs
    + ContactUs
    + Links
    + Sitemap

And I want to design my site like this :

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    | LOGO / header |
    |---------------------------------------------------------------|
    | Home | Honda | Suzuki | AboutUs | ContactUs |
    |---------------------------------------------------------------|
    | Search ..... |
    |---------------------------------------------------------------|
    | NAVIGATION | |
    | Home | |
    | Cars | CONTENT |
    | MotorCycle | |
    | Links | |
    | Sitemap | |
    | ---------------------------------------------------------------|
    | Footer |
    |----------------------------------------------------------------|

*) The Navigation has CARS & MOTORCYCLE as the start point, If we click at it (or mouse over it), come sub menu honda & Suzuki.
*) The DropDown menu has HONDA & SUZUKI as start point, if we click at it (or mouse over it), come sub menu of Cars & Motorcycle.

How to make it in Modx ? May be it use wayfinder ... but how ? Any tips ?

    Thanks.
    Best Regards,

      Hi,

I see this article for Navigation : http://www.muddydogpaws.com/development/wayfinder/examples/example-4.html
And this article for Dropdown menu : http://www.muddydogpaws.com/development/wayfinder/examples/example-1.html

It shows the menu item exactly like the articles tree ?

I don’t know wayfinder so much ... sad .... So far I know, it can show the menu from the the root (or parent id) until its sub articles BELOW it, is that right ?

Or is there another way to make the flexible Dropdown menu & Navigation like I need ?

      Thanks.
      Best Regards,

I suggest you use the basic snippet call when its the first you try out!, Then to install the demo content to see how to do simple tasks and learn to mixture and get the complex results!?, In this case are you sure you have ticked the "show in menu"-option when you have created the documents or do you even published’em anyway?

          Hallo MotSmart,

Many thanks for your reply. Could you please give me the links for learning this ? I’ve tried muddydogpaws.com , but still cann’t find the solution of this problem ...

          I’ve ’PUBLISHED’ the contents.

Some people says it’s possible to do that in modx, but I still don’t know how ... sad

          Thanks.

hey just create css for dropdown multilevel wayfinder by default output unorder list, if your document tree is multilevel than it will output multilevel unorderlist.

so just find or create css using selectors like ul ul ul li , for detail please read online help

this way your navigation will be auto styled

you can get idea from here http://netcane.com/blog/css/multilevel-vertical-menu/
