  • I’ve got an unpublished container "articles" with documents that are themselves "Category" containers for articles. Using Friendly Alias Paths, is there any way to avoid having that unpublished container’s alias in the path?

This seems like a reasonable remark by sottwell and no luck in a response.

I can see this being very helpful. In a site map you would want to show :

      Articles
      -----Category
      ------------Article 1
      ------------Article 2
      ------------Article 3

However in a lot of instances this is a repetition within the URL, for eg.

      domain.com/portfolio/sector_type/technology

Well technology is a sector type and frankly this type of tautology has no place on the modern interweb... smiley

I am going to investigate how hard it would be to leave unpublished containers out of friendly URL’s. While this would change the core of ModX, the site I am working on is for me I am prepared to do it.

      Anyone have any comments?

sottwell if you think this may be useful to you I will be working on it now so chip in, if you get this message in time.
